  • Students can only take the IELTS Academic exam on the following dates and in the following exam center.
  • The exams are limited to the quota specified by the institution.

A grade of at least 6.5 on IELTS with a score of minimum 5.5. in all sections (Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing)
  • Students who are planning to take the IELTS exam should make sure that they have uploaded the necessary documents to the English Language Preparatory Program system at least 21 days before the exam and that their application has been approved.

* Bilkent University students who are in the Maximum Duration status must renew and update their photo on their Bilkent ID through Student Registrar’s Office before applying to English Language Preparatory Program in order to take the IELTS exam.

For prospective students considering enrollment at Bilkent University
- a recent passport-sized photo- * Taken within the last 6 months and should be different from the photo on your ID card.
- IELTS registration summary
- the original and a photocopy of your Turkish ID card or passport
- student certificate with a photo from the school you graduated

* Bilkent University reserves the right not to accept the exam result of the student.

The conditions listed above are applicable to students who are currently registered at Bilkent University, are Turkish citizens and plan to continue their undergraduate programs. Reminders for students:

1. Decide on the exam you want to take and check the exam dates. You need to upload your documents to the English Language Preparatory Program system at least 21 days before the exams. Documents are not accepted in person.

2. For your questions, you can contact the English Language Preparatory Program (Elif Kantarcıoğlu, East Campus, N Building, CZ09 – Phone: 290 1802).

3. Remember to take the following documents to the exam venue with you:

  • Bilkent University Student ID card
  • Turkish ID card or passport

Please remember that you cannot take anything else with you into the exam room.

4. On the day of the Speaking exam, please do not forget to make sure (for both Bilkent University and IDP separetely) your photo is taken and you sign.   If you do not have a photo on the exam day, your exemption process cannot be completed.

5. Remember to have your exam results posted electronically to the Bilkent University (Recognizing Organization) address below. Hard copies are not required. However, if need be, hard copies can be posted to:

Bilkent University does not accept scores presented directly by the students.

6. Bilkent University English Language Preparatory Program reserves the right to investigate exam results for reliability purposes, the right to give an exam to students, to check the validity of their exam results and the right to not accept exam results that are considered to be suspicious.
