Delta Modules

The Cambridge English Delta (Diploma in Teaching English Language to Speakers of Other Languages) is currently offered to practising teachers of English as a Foreign Language with at least two years’ teaching experience.

The Delta is made up of three modules one of which includes practical teaching practice. At English Preparatory Program we offer a blended provision of the three modules. Module 1 – Understanding language, methodology and resources for teaching; Module 2 – Developing Professional Practice; and Module 3 – Extending Practice and ELT Specialism. A candidate successfully completing all three modules achieves the Delta qualification.

Bilkent University English Preparatory Program has been running the Delta courses since 1992 (it was previously known as DOTE and DTEFLA) and prides itself on a high success rate. Many of the 200+ graduates from the program are now in leadership positions in English Preparatory Program and other educational institutions (both local and international), and so passing on the torch to others.

Delta is accepted throughout the world by organisations which employ English Language teachers. The UK Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) regulates all three Delta modules at Level 7 of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) for England, Wales and Northern Ireland – the same level as a Master’s degree.
